Church prayed for the tension softening Korea

The leaders of the Catholic Church in Korea invites people to pray so that the tension in Korea did not deteriorate.
President of South Korea cut its trade with the communist-controlled North Korea in retaliation for a torpedo attack by North Korea that killed 46 South Korean sailors.
"In the light of faith, we hope this will lead to national reconciliation, and we have to keep hoping. We need to pray for peace, "Fabiano said Choi Hong-jun, chairman of the Board of Laity Korea.
He said the tensions that emerged lately like throwing cold water on national reconciliation efforts.
Sinking Cheanon, South Korean warships, on March 26 in the Yellow Sea is the country's military defeat since the 1950-53 Korean War years. A torpedo from a submarine ditembakan North Korean ship sank, the international investigation team reports
Father Raphael Seo Jong-yeob deplores' economic attacks' from South Korean President Lee Myung-bak against North Korea, given the Commission for Reconciliation of Korean People of the Korean Bishops' Conference has planned assistance for North Koreans.
But now the plan was canceled following a confrontational policy toward North Korea. However, he welcomed the government's policy of not mengembargo assistance for children in North Korea.
South Korea is second largest trading partner of North Korea, after China.
Pastor Seo said that the North and South "should continue to pursue peace talks and reconciliation" and for that prayer is needed.

The Inner Game - Your Mindset For Positive Thinking

Let's start off discussing what a paradigm is. Simply put, a paradigm is basically the "noise in your head.," nothing more. An important distinction to make is, it's your noise because you put it there, not anyone else. That's right, your spouse, your boss, your parents, the economy, the person who just cut you off didn't put in there, you did. What you need to realize is that we all do this, every single human being who has ever walked the planet, except for maybe Jesus Christ, Mohammed, the Dali Lama and Gandhi. So, now you should feel a little better about yourself. The reason for this is because your paradigms are based on your past experiences and circumstances, so they're habitual. What that means is what you think, what you believe and how you act at a given point in time, is like flying a plane on auto pilot.
You don't even realize it, because you're not aware that you're on auto-pilot but that's what's happening. What Is Your Paradigm We started off saying that your paradigm is basically the "noise in your head." But where does that noise come from? Well, it comes from your past, right. It comes from all the thoughts you've thought, all the experiences you've experienced, the people you've met, loved, lost; all the good things and all the bad things that have happened in your life make up your paradigm. Most people attach meaning to their experiences. What you need to understand is, that it's what you do with all of these experiences that matters. Like saving information on your computer, how you register these experiences in your mind, over time will create either good noise or bad noise.
So you see, your paradigm is basically nothing more than a combination of the actions and results that we all experience based on our past. It is simply the sum total of our past thoughts, beliefs, habits, values and actions. However, don't under estimate the power of your paradigm. Based on your relationship with your paradigm, it becomes a road map for your life. If you have a good relationship with your paradigm, understand it, question it, relate to it, it will help you to attract good things into your life. On the other hand, if your relationship with your paradigm is non-existent or on auto pilot, it will just as surely leave you stuck in the mud. The bottom line is, most people spend the majority of their life living it on what I call "auto behavior," as in automatic pilot. They don't really think about what they're doing, they just habitually do it. Another term often used to describe our paradigm, is our "mindset." When we're not aware of our mindset and don't examine or question it, then for the most part we are operating "on auto-pilot." You see, we create our own mindset in our lives and over time our mindset creates us. Let's talk about this for a moment.
Based on what I learned in school, machines, engines and assembly lines work on automatic but not human beings. Machines aren't born with a free will to make choices and decisions, but we are. Yet, when many of us behave and live our lives on automatic, in essence we're giving away our free will and are basically declaring that we're no better or different than a machine. Talk about giving away the candy store. That's not how and why God created us. Change Your Life This is a good starting point for us to discuss what a paradigm shift is. Simply put, a paradigm shift is basically making the behavioral transition from your present state of behaviors and habits, to a set of new behaviors and habits. You see, before you can begin to change your life you must first be aware of your behavior and the fact that you're on auto pilot. For instance, before an alcoholic or drug addict can begin the process of cleaning up his or her addiction, they must first acknowledge that they in fact have an alcohol or drug problem that requires attention. The same is true for you and I in life; before we can change the outside, our results, we must first change the inside, our core belief system.
You see, people form habits and habits form futures. Simply put, a paradigm shift is about "new possibilities," it's about transforming your being, so that you no longer believe that you are the limitations of your past thinking, rather a being of new and infinite possibilities. A paradigm shift is about having the courage to depart from the world we've known, into a new world. Allow me to share with you a quotation by Robert Frost, and I quote "there is a time for departure, even when there is no certain place to go." Think about that for a moment before you read on. Once you are aware of your behavior, now you can begin to change who you are, to become who you want to be. This process will enable you to realize that your past is truly not your future. You see it works like this; you are your thoughts, change your thoughts and you change your paradigm, change your paradigm and you change your behavior, change your behavior and you change your life. So basically what we're saying is if you want to change your life, you must first change your paradigm.
James Allen says in As a Man Thinks, "many people are anxious to improve their results but are unwilling to improve themselves." Why People Fear Change Within our own identity, we each have both a True and a False Self. For many of you, the False Self dominates who you're being on a daily basis. Based on the False Self, you know yourself as you relate to that false person, the power and possessions that that person identifies with and thinks they own or control. These objects or things that you derive your identity from are threatened whenever the individual is confronted with change. The reason is because in the moment, that individual feels that he or she may lose themselves, as their identity is not who they are but who they think they are, as well as their power and possessions. Because the Self is attached to external circumstances or things, once you feel that something will be taken from you, you fear losing the thing, as well as yourself, so you fear the change.
The False Self is scarcity based. On the other hand, the True Self welcomes change because the True Self see's change as representing the growth of who they're being in their enlightened spirit. Their identity is not attached to outside influences or circumstances, rather to who they are Being in the moment. They embrace change because they have faith in the Universe and believe in the abundance and prosperity that the Universe has to offer. Their belief systems are not conditioned and based on past paradigms of fear and scarcity, rather love, grace and blessings. Where love exists, there can be no fear, therefore the True Self does not fear change. Your Paradigm Shift Simply put, a paradigm shift is about "new possibilities," it's about transforming your being, so that you no longer believe that you are the limitations of your past thinking, rather a being of new and infinite possibilities. A paradigm shift is about having the courage to depart from the world we've known, into a new world.
Allow me to share with you a quotation by Robert Frost, and I quote "there is a time for departure, even when there is no certain place to go." Think about that for a moment before you read on. In order for you to be willing to do the necessary work to make the changes you want to make, you will need to have a strong level of desire, motivation and intention. You must create a purpose that you feel so passionate about, you can feel the shift in how you see the world. A purpose so grand, so powerful, that nothing or no one can deter you from achieving your purpose. This will fuel you to make the necessary sacrifices you will need to go into action. What you are doing here, is creating new positive and powerful paradigms, that will support your dreams and intentions versus hinder and sabotage them.
You see we all dream but a dream without a plan is only a dream; likewise a plan not put into action is only a plan. Success is not based on who you know or what you know, it is based on the depth of your belief in yourself and your purpose. Will you fear your new journey, yes, initially you will, I know I did. But as time passes and you travel down the road in search of your new life, your enthusiasm will carry you forward. Next, as you realize that the changes you've made have freed you of the shackles of your past paradigms and that a new life is truly possible, your dreams begin to soar. Like a child on a brand new bike, your joy and excitement will take you beyond your doubts and fears; you will begin to realize that you can in fact "ride that bike" and that success and happiness are possible. This discovered reality will become your new found friend on your journey through life. Cause and Effect I'm sure you've heard of the terms "cause and effect." Well, cause and effect are like a master diagram for your behavior.
If you behave a certain way, you're going to get certain results. If you want to change the effect, you first have to be aware of and change the cause. Based on your mindset your thoughts are your basic cause. I've had so many people say to me, "Larry, I really want to change my life." But what so many people tend to do, is attempt to manipulate the effects in their life, without first addressing the cause. Many people attempt to change their results without ever changing their paradigm. When you shift your mindset, you begin to change your thoughts and behavior, once you make that internal shift, the world around you starts to change; it's like playing a new game with a new set of rules. Look, I can honestly tell you that I've been there, done that. I want you to realize and understand that everyone experiences this in life; you're not alone and you're not some freak. Remember what we talked about early on i.e. life is ten percent what happens to you and 90 percent what you do with what happens to you.
That is the key difference between those who change their lives and those who do not, nothing more. If I did it, so can you! Once you get this concept, the monkey is off your back. As a matter of fact, you can leave him at the zoo where he belongs. You'll also leave your baggage at the checkout desk on your way out the door, as you begin your journey in search of your life's purpose and passion. You will feel so energized, so enthusiastic, so in love with who you are, that you'll hardly recognize yourself or your behavior. What use to seem like mountains and unsurmountable challenges, will suddenly seem like bumps in the road. You discover a belief and faith in yourself that you never new existed, although it was always there; but because you were on auto-pilot, you never had the chance to find it. The difference is that you've shifted your mindset; your now present, present to life and all the power that resides in it, all the power that resides in you.

Pluralism and Modern Christians: Exclusivism in an Inclusivist World

When we encounter people of other faiths--Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Baha'is, etc.--observing their obvious devotion to what their religious convictions and the inner peace they seem to have and the gentleness, it makes us want to make a place for them in the kingdom of God. Our Western culture promotes pluralism of all kinds--racial, ethnic, political, and religious. Anyone who argues for one Way as the exclusive way of salvation our society opposes, ridicules, and fears.
Of course, God, in His sovereignty, may choose to save anyone He wants. In the exercising of His wisdom, justice, and mercy, He certainly has the prerogative that human judges often exercise: of allowing for extenuating circumstances and the attitude of the defendant. What's more, He can factor in the confluence of a multitude of cause-effect relationships wholly unknowable to humans. We are confident that if He makes such allowances, they will be decisions that will only serve to magnify His holiness, His grace, and His righteousness.
We are not in a position, however, to second-guess or to make reliable predictions about what He will and will not do in His role as Judge of All the Earth beyond what He has revealed to us. Biblical history yields examples when He granted pardons (2 Sam. 12:13; Ps. 32:1-5; Jonah 3:10) or overlooked shortcomings and failures (2 Chron. 30:17-20; 2 Kings 5:15-19), but it also reports that at other times, He demanded exacting obedience and punished failures to comply to the smallest detail (Lev. 10:1-7; 2 Sam. 6:6-7).
It is not for us to attempt to predict, much less to demand, what He will do or choose in specific cases. Our task is only to proclaim what He has revealed in His Word. Jesus Himself said, "No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6). His apostle, Peter, restated the same principle: "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). Paul adds: "In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent" (Acts 17:31).
For us to grant even hypothetical pardon to anyone who has not responded to the gospel of Jesus Christ seems tantamount to calling Jesus (and Peter and Paul) a liar. If He is truly my Lord--if He is truly yours--we cannot call Him a liar or contradict His express statements. We must, instead, obey His call to "Disciple all nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you" (Matt. 28:19-20). If that makes us Christians exclusionists, so be it. If that means our stance is a stumbling block to the world, that's all right. The cross has been a stumbling block and foolishness to an unbelieving world throughout the entire history of Christianity. Yet, to those who are being saved, "it is God's power and God's wisdom. For the foolisness of God is wiser than man's wisdom and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength" (1 Cor. 1:24-25).

Philosophical Reasons Why the God of the Universe Cannot Be "Good" As We Expect Him to Be

The holy scriptures of the Jews, the Christians, the Muslims and of other creeds portray God as good. I have a problem with that although I wish I could agree with that.
My reasoning in this case starts with considering a new born baby - 5 seconds old. If the God of the universe were good, that baby would have been born with an innate understanding of this God. If this baby is truly the creation of this good God it would have, let's say, an instinct for the laws of God and all the other things God would want a creature to have; an instinct that for instance new-born sea-going turtles have to make it into the sea as soon as possible.
All brand new turtle babies know to scratch and claw their way up to the surface of the sand and immediate, and in great haste begin to crawl toward the sea. They have an innate understanding of how to do all this and why. Such baby turtles know they are easy prey to birds and mammals, so they rush as fast as possible into the safety of the waters. New-born human babies should have such instinct from birth about God's will and purpose for it.
Yet, a new-born baby's mind is blank about spiritual matters. It is like a new auxiliary hard drive for a computer. Such a hard drive has some programs loaded in it to format it for the computer it will be used with; but there is absolutely nothing in a baby's mind about the knowledge of God. If there was, I could very well understand the need and purpose for a bible, the Torah, the Quran, etc.
I can understand that through circumstances of its birth and environment and means of growing up the child may completely forget or consider the knowledge of God to be superfluous or even wrong. Later on in life, reading a Holy Scripture could remind the person of the goodness of God and bring again into mind what the person was born with concerning the knowledge and goodness of God. The person would then again exist in harmony with God and align its life with this harmony according to its own will.
Yet, nothing like that exists or occurs. A baby's mind is blank about the knowledge of God - just like the minds of any new-born creature. This, to me, is the sign we are dealing with a God that is not innately good.
Babies are born to people who are utterly ignorant of how to deal with a new-born baby. They never try to understand what is on a new-born baby's mind, other than responding to its cries for sustenance and discomfort. Parents are not equipped to deal with spiritual matters in a new born baby's mind - neither are any of the clergy.
Babies are immediately indoctrinated to the physical environment and to the several (maybe even "loving") social, religious and legal standards/propaganda of its parents. From long experience this seems the very best way to commune with a dumb baby. It seems to be parents' way of expressing the common-sense manner of dealing with a baby.
A sense of God and the corresponding understanding of the goodness of God are indoctrinated by several means into the baby's and child's mind.
From early on a child is impressed with the goodness of God and the badness/evil of the devil. The devil is said to seduce children and adults to go contrary to God's will. Yet, no one knows about God's will but through a thorough indoctrination of a set of writings that are considered holy and good. The indoctrinations of one religion can go in entirely opposite directions than another set of Holy Scriptures held as sacred by a different set of people.
Now, I ask, which of all these writings is truly the word of God? A good God cannot contradict himself even in the least little matter because one of these uttering would be a lie to one set or another set of people. See, I claim that, at best, Holy Scriptures are the interpretations of the uttering of a supposedly good God to certain 'supposedly' holy people in the several regions on earth.
These interpretations written down and learned by other religious people are now the religions of the several groups of people on earth. Yet, we must inculcate into these writings the wiliness of the devil. Is the devil not supposed to seduce people (any people whether holy or not, but more so the holy ones because these are the ones who will write down the many uttering of God) to misinterpret God's true word? If I were wily and a devil, I would do my best to seduce these holy ones to misunderstand God's word.
Everybody knows that spiritually this world is not good. There are too many things wrong with it as far as it concerns humans and human relations. I would say that the worst wars and the very worst crimes are committed exactly by authorities and obedient lay people of religious groups - or by a regional cast of society against certain religious people and even entire groups.
Now we are getting back to the tiny little babies born into all these differing religious groups. Without indoctrination of any kind these children will grow up to be like wild animals and roaming groups of wild animals. Some children will naturally shun such groups and because of their inclination to be apart may become targets of maliciousness of one or more groups. So the individualist is forced to join one group or other for reasons of survival.
If God were good and the maligned sentiments of adults are stripped from the upbringing of babies these babies should grow up right in the sight of God; yet, all we can expect from them is wildness and malicious cunning. Where in all this comes the goodness of God into the situation? Nowhere; there is absolutely no innate connection between man and God that tells us that God is good! Holy writings are nothing more than the considered moral and ethical expressions of people. I do not dismiss that there is a deep yearning in people to find and have a good and just God reigning over the world and mankind.
I do not say that the God of the universe is not not-good. I sincerely believe he is good but in an entirely different role than mankind has given to him. To give God this good role, people had to invent a devil - an entity that is through and through evil. There is not even one iota good in this devil. I know this to be untrue. The entire spectrum and realms of the spiritual world is very carefully ordered according to the knowledge of good. The universe is only a very tiny, but very important part of the whole spiritual realm and it appears as a realm where evil can reign in its full bloom.
The true God's purpose for all creation is good and it is ordered to produce the understanding of the idea of good in creatures. God's problem is that most people simply are not interested or incapable of understanding the purpose of the God of this universe and the purpose for which the universe was created. People are utterly unfamiliar with the God of this universe's boss - the true God.
Physical creation's purpose is to introduce new spirits to the ideas of evil because good cannot be fully appreciated without the knowledge of evil. He does so in order for the masses to be unable to grasp the purpose and meaning of God and spiritual reality. What the true God's purpose is for the God of the universe is for only a few to be able to grasp and learn true spiritual ideas of evil and experience evil to the fullest to understand that in true spirit only the principles of good can reign!
God does not want a set of automatically controlled yes-nodding humans like we see in the oil fields. Holy Scriptures, the ones I am familiar with make people yes-nodders and make people do religious duties and other extraneous rituals by rote. People pray by rote, they go to church by rote and are obedient to the best they can be by rote. I call that a routine of phoniness.
No! God is interested in communion with us as friends. All he wants from us is to have trust in him in spite of what the environment brings against us. God wants us to be immersed in any and all situation we consider evil, bad, impossible to bear, suffer through, etc. He wants us to almost drown in all the evil; but he wants even more from us - to continue to have trust that all will be well without kowtowing, never-ending strings of the identical ceremonies and rituals and pleas. He wants you to be a friend, to confide in and trust him just as you would your best friend - to continue to have trust and consideration under any circumstances. Talk to him, curse him, explain yourself to him but never lose faith in him!
The devil is there, but he is God for another range of races and species and he wants you to join those races and species. In order to do that he needs you to trample on "God's laws. If the God of the universe does not want you anymore this devil has claims on you as you reincarnate.
The God of the universe is a devil in a higher realm of beings. He is a devil in true reality. Those who offend the true God, so to speak, are rejected in reality and the God of the universe then has claims on those entities. That is how humans came into the world. They literally fell from spirit into the physical world.
The souls that fell from reality believed a lie about true reality and its God. Lie believers are dead to the truth. So when souls incarnate in the physical universe after these souls has been stripped of the true spiritual truth, they are born (materialize) absolutely lacking in the knowledge of true reality, its God and his precept. Babies thus come into the world utterly devoid of spiritual truth or even about the truth colored by the lie the God of the universe would want them to know.
This flip-flop in hierarchy goes all the way down through many species and races and many devils - each opposing the "God" above it. So there are Gods/devils for humans, dolphins, dogs, ants and microbes.
Remember, those who are not in reality must be in unreality or some sort of virtual reality. The universe is a system of virtual reality and we are caught in it. The God of the universe is supreme commander there, but not without the consent and orders of the true God. The trap is divinely designed and its purpose is for lost souls to find back reality. For that purpose the true son of God, posing as the son of the God of the universe, came down into this virtual realm to give us a helping hand; so at least some souls trapped in human bodies may find back their home, true reality. The rest of humans and all other critters are caught in this universe forever (or so it seems).
Truly, the universe is a place to be lost and remain lost spiritually. Something very extraordinary must happen to a soul to again be placed in reality and to be found, so to speak.

Terrorism, would arise because of differences?

peace of a region or country is often disrupted by terrorist acts carried out by some persons or groups who are not responsible. chaotic situation created by the terrorists is often a systemic effect in many areas, the main thing is the economy. but if we want to look further, what exactly is the reason of the terrorists?
the problem of terrorism is often associated with fanaticism of certain groups of ideology that they profess, but whether this is true? it is often the case lately, acts of terrorism is always linked with the problem of difference, namely religion, but the fact of what happened, we can assess that terrorist acts have more to do with the interests of certain groups, will be a thing, and they use religion to be as a justification of their actions.
therefore, let us not be sheep pitted with these acts of terrorism. We should be able to assess and find out what exactly their motives, so that we are not mistaken mananggapi steps in this matter.

Same-sex marriage

a norm usually prohibit the illicit relationship between two gay men, in this case can a man with men, or women with women. It's no secret that things like this is morally opposed, and religion. Then the question arises, whether this is fair for those who experience it?
If we look at from the standpoint of the norm, it's things like this is not feasible to be done, even to be a highly forbidden, because it is considered to have violated nature. But if we look at from the standpoint of the right to vote, which included human rights, this is not something that deserves to be banned, because this is part of the right itself. So how do we have to respond to incidents like this?
For sure we should never just judge from one side only, we must be able to view a problem from many different angles, to be able to understand the issue more objectively. As a moral human being, of course we can put ourselves to respond to problems like this, if we're talking in the context of norms and religion, we agree that this kind of thing is forbidden, but when we talked in the context of human rights and also the differences, let us be able to to appreciate it, because that's the meaning of differences itself.

Unity amid differences

a condition in which there are many differences, and also where the distinction itself becomes wealth, should be maintained, so that survival can be berkjalanan with a harmonious society. Communities should be able to see a difference as a unifier, as well as a spirit to be able to complement each other.
What is happening in various parts of the world, where the difference becomes an excuse to hurt each other, should not recur. Conflict in the Middle East is seen as the problem of religious interests, should not be a breaker of togetherness, because we want to see klau further, actually what happened in the middle east is not a matter of religious differences, or others, but rather a conflict of interest, in this case more political direction, which is about territory. Let this issue be resolved politically, too, do not be resolved arbitrarily, by putting his own ego that difference, because it will increasingly extend the problem itself.

Other past, Others Now

By: KH. Abdurrahman Wahid

When Indonesia was standing, there is a very interesting thing, namely the term "independence". With the words used in different usage, then gained some sense and meaning. The word independent means loose or free.
Today, the word independence was also used by security forces, such as freedom from arrest or could be interpreted freely. However, the word freedom is more than free. For a nation, free means free from colonialism. It is used to show the political independence, economic and rest.
Economically independent, meaning not at all dependent on other countries in all respects. Politically, it means that apart from the occupation of other parties. For example, the escape of Indonesia from Dutch colonial opinion so that our nation is able to quickly develop a political culture, economics, and others own.
A sentence like to maintain the independence of the country has achieved, whether through war or by way of negotiations, referring to aspects of independence. This was used by the Constitution of 1945 us.
When the deceased Raja Ali Haji of Riau Malays Grammar change the book, so he purposely has been "liberating" the language of the Malays Belanda.Buku language becomes forerunner Indonesia.Lahirnya birth of language as a lingua franca Melayu language, became the forerunner of the growth awareness of the existing tribes in the country to build a bond of nationality.
This can be seen with the establishment of Boedi Oetomo (BO), which became one of the core building our nation. Nevertheless, the spirit became one of this nation has seen in our history since 8.Padahal century, the Majapahit kingdom itself a new born in the year 1293 AD.
In the 8th century AD, a Buddhist clerics from China called Fahien have reported the existence of the spirit of respecting differences in Sriwijaya in South Sumatra. Two centuries later, people Sriwijaya invaded the island of Java through the old port of Pekalongan. On the way to climb Mount Dieng, they were met by the people Kalinga Hindu.
The Hindus were left unharmed. Sriwijaya troops in the region are continuing to Muntilan, which now becomes part of Magelang District. There they built a temple called Borobudur. Most of them lived at Borobudur and partly to the region of Yogyakarta today.
In the new area, they founded the kingdom of Kalinga Buddhist and founded Prambanan, a Hindu-Buddhist temple which immediately bullied by the Hindus and Buddhists. They regard it as religion "hodgepodge." Under the leadership of King Darmawangsa, they move from Prambanan to Kediri.
